TELUS Relationship Extended
TELUS has been the title sponsor of the BC Boys' AAA Basketball Championships for the past four years. TELUS was the first title sponsor in the 64 year history of the tournament. On March 9, 2009, the day before action began at the tournament, TELUS Director of Community Sports, Steve Podborski announced that TELUS would continue its relationship with the tournament providing sponsorship funding for the tournament and scholarships. Beginning in 2010, TELUS will be the Presenting Sponsor for the BC High School Boys' Basketball AAA Championships and the BC Senior Secondary Girls' Basketball AAA Championships.

This pre-season tournament is a basketball event like no other in Alberta. The week-long tourney kicks off the Calgary High School basketball season for players, fans and coaches. It will bring together 64 high school basketball teams and 1,000 student athletes to compete for four divisional championships and financial scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded to individuals competing in the tournament who demonstrate an outstanding combination of citizenship, leadership and academic proficiency.
